Today was a rather frustrating day. Draining. We tried to buy our train tickets for Frankfurt in Salzburg, but bought the wrong ones at the kiosk. After going inside to speak to a live person for help, we found out we were standing in the wrong line. After we finally got the correct tickets to Frankfurt, we discovered that the other tickets we bought were non-refundable because we bought them outside. Grrr...
We got on the train...and after a few hours discovered we were sitting in the reserved seating section, which is OK as long as no one wants that seat. Someone eventually wanted mine, so we had to get up and move. Fortunately there were plenty of seats available in the non-reserved section, but still...
The best part of the day was getting to Frankfurt. The hotel we had picked out was full, but there was another 2 doors down that was available for an even better price. Thankfully, we checked in and then went in search of food, finding a lovely little pizza place right around the corner.
I had a charlie horse in my calf and decided a walk around the block would do it some good. We found a cute little corner market and went inside to find some chocolate. Ken found a Lindt chocolate bar made with Alpine milk - I joked that it was made from the milk of those Swiss Brown Cows (an actual breed) we saw all over the Alps! I had a tiny little bite and must say it was exquisite! I found 75% dark "Tobago" brand chocolate that is made here in Germany. It was very stout but very good. The back of Ken's wrapper reminded us that there is a Lindt Chocolate Museum in Cologne. Guess what just got added to tomorrow's itinerary!
